Kool Kompany regained the winning thread as he turned Royal Ascot form on its head in the GAIN Railway Stakes at the Curragh.
Richard Hannon’s youngster was well beaten in the Coventry Stakes, in which two of his Irish rivals, Cappella Sansevero and War Envoy, had finished ahead of him. However, a return to forcing tactics saw Kool Kompany (6-1) record his fourth victory from five starts. Fran Berry had the Kool Kompany smartly out of the gates from the far side to grab the stands rail and dictate matters. Fellow British-trained raider Ahlan Emarati, from Peter Chapple-Hyam’s stable, was beaten two lengths into second spot.
