Jim Bolger has a treble at The Curragh
Jim Bolger’s day at the Curragh went from fine to fabulous yesterday as Parish Hall led home another 1-2 for the trainer when landing the Listed Alleged Stakes.
In beating stablemate Loch Garman, he was repeating the exploits of Mimicking and Ard San Aer in the opener and also completing a huge 840.5-1 treble for Bolger whose Flight Risk ran out a shock winner of the Group 3 Big Bad Bob Stakes.
Parish Hall was winning the race for the second time having tasted victory in the contest two years ago and Bolger felt afterwards that the six-year-old, who won the Dewhurst in his younger days, could be getting back to his best.
“He always runs a good race,” the trainer said. “I think he’ll get back maybe to the level where he was as a two-year-old. He is in great form at the moment and loving life.”
Kevin Manning, who was on board the three winners, said of Parish Hall: “He won very well. When I let him go he quickened up. He is a real uncomplicated horse.”
