Congratulations to our customer Greg Broderick who secured a place on the podium on his Longines Global Champions Tour debut  in Estoril, Portugal last weekend.

Riding his Nations Cup mount MHS Going Global, the Tipperary rider finished in third place picking up substantial €45,000 for his place on his first ever attempt at a five-star Global Champions Tour Grand Prix.

Greg was the only Irish rider to jump clear in the opening round, securing a place in the jump-off against world number one Scott Brash (Hello Sanctos), Christian Ahlmann (Cornado II) and Abdullah Alsharbatly (Domingo).

It was the British number one Brash who won out in the jump-off, going clear in 36.29, with Alsharbatly taking second in 37.90 and Broderick and Going Global in third place in 40.97.

Ahlmann had a single pole down in the jump-off, with Broderick maintaining a cool head aboard Caledonia Stables’s nine year-old Kilkenny-bred gelding to deliver a perfect clear round.

Huge congratulations to Greg and all the team at Ballypatrick Stables on this fantastic result.
