Footpad wins the GAIN Spring Juvenile Hurdle

Footpad (14-1) was the outsider of the Mullins’ trio for the Grade One contest, but he travelled through from the rear to go on just before the final flight under Danny Mullins.

Keeping on strongly up the run-in Footpad won by two and three-quarter lengths from Allblak Des Places, with Let’s Dance just a nose behind in third to complete the Mullins 1-2-3.

The race favourite Ivanovich Gorbatov was sent off the 8/13 favourite but he could only manage a  fourth under Barry Geraghty for Aidan O’Brien after a fourth flight mistake.

The winning jockey said: “It’s a great help to be given the chances on these good horses. He was very good today, I was a bit further back than I wanted to be but he was settled.”
