Exciting 2019 GAIN Mares Series Final at Ballynoe
Ballynoe in Co. Cork was the location of the 2019 Final of the GAIN Mares Series. The Final was a competitive affair, with 8 runners going to post. It was a quality field with every mare in with a chance of winning the coveted prize.
It was a thrilling race, with Dime A Dozen coming out on top for John Hanlon and Tom Hamilton. The winner made all the running and stayed on strongly to come in ahead of favourite Forth Worth Texas by three lengths. Kalli’s Quest took third by a neck from Trumps Ace. The winner was trained in Co. Carlow and was ridden by Tim Hamilton, a native of Scotland, who was having his first ride on the horse and in the race – what a memorable result! The winning owners are a syndicate who are new to racing and were overjoyed to win the Final. Dime A Dozen will now be aimed at the mares’ point to point bumper at Cork racecourse over the Easter Festival.
Congratulations to the connections of all the placed horses in the Final – what a great race and great result!
